Why 23 Things?
23 Things was originally started as a means for librarians within the same public library to do some professional development related to Web 2.0 technology, and be able to do that professional development in their own time.
I have modified the program to fit the professional development needs of GJSD teachers and their access to Chromebook devices. Everything outlined in this 23 Things For Chromebook course is available for free and optimized for use with a Chromebook.
The course is online, self-paced, and self-directed with the option to contact me if needed.

How it all Works
This course is all online and has been created with the Chromebook in mind. The main goal is for you to get used the features of your Chromebook whilst learning a few ways to enhance the technology use in your classroom - both from the teacher productivity standpoint and the student learning standpoint.
You will learn a lot of information that is new to you. Don’t worry, this site will always be available for you to refer to.

Is This for Beginners?
Yes!
This course is designed with the absolute beginner in mind. It is expected at the beginning that you have never used a Chromebook before and have very little use of technology in your classroom (you check your mail and do your attendance and maybe that’s it). We hope to change your use of technology by the end of the course, but we will be starting right at the beginning.
Some of you will find the “lessons” here to be very easy. That is ok. Just move through it quickly. With so many people being involved in this course we have to start somewhere, and the very beginning makes the most sense. Those of you that are more experienced will have the opportunity to share your knowledge in the Forum when your colleagues ask for help or advice.
Any questions on this just email me at [email protected] or @thomarie on Twitter. Also if a particular lesson seems confusing feel free to contact me any time and I’ll strive to get back to you asap.
